About Squad Life
Squad Life is a home maintenance membership for homeowners in Calgary, Okotoks and the Foothills. We visit your home on a set schedule to inspect, service and document your home’s systems, handle small fixes on the spot, and coordinate trusted trade partners for anything bigger.
An inspector finds problems and a handyman fixes what you point out. We do both on an ongoing basis: we track every system in your home, catch issues early, and take care of the small things before they turn into big repairs.
Homeowners who would rather prevent problems than react to them. It is a good fit if you are busy, new to owning a home, or simply want one trusted team keeping track of everything your home needs.
We serve Calgary, Okotoks, High River, Diamond Valley, Chestermere, De Winton and surrounding Foothills communities.
We service detached homes, townhomes, acreages and rental properties. We do not currently service condos or apartments.
Visits are completed by Squad Life technicians and trusted subcontractors. Everyone who works in your home has WCB clearance and is bondable.
Yes. Squad Life is insured and carries WCB coverage.
Getting Started
It is a visit of about 2 hours where we walk through your home, document your equipment and its condition, log any known issues, and scan your floor plan. It sets up your Home Profile so your member portal starts with real data. There is no cost and no commitment.
Use any “Free Home Health Check” button on our website to pick a time that works for you, or call us at 587-317-7823.
Make sure we can get into your mechanical room and around the outside of your home. If you have pets that may not be comfortable with visitors, please keep them in a safe place during the visit.
No. We will recommend the membership that fits your home, and the decision is yours.
About 2 hours, depending on the size of your home.
A home inspection is a one time report, usually before you buy. The Home Health Check is the first step in ongoing care. It sets up your home profile so every future visit builds on it.
Memberships and Pricing
Bronze ($9.99/month) gives you full portal access and proactive alerts, with no scheduled visits. Silver ($39.99/month) adds a fall Health Check. Gold ($89.99/month) includes fall and spring visits. Platinum ($149.99/month) is year-round coverage with four seasonal visits. See our Pricing page for full details.
Bronze suits homeowners who want their home documented and tracked with reminders, but prefer to do the work themselves. Silver adds a yearly fall visit to prepare your home for winter. Gold covers both fall and spring, and Platinum provides full, year-round care. After your Home Health Check, we will recommend the level that fits your home.
Yes. Paying annually gets you two months free.
There are no callout fees and no long-term contracts. You can cancel anytime.
You can cancel your membership at any time. Your membership stays active until the end of the term you have already paid for, and no further visits are scheduled after that. Payments already made are non-refundable.
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time, and the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
You can pay monthly or annually by credit or debit card.
Your membership stays with you, not the house. It continues until you cancel, and you can bring it to your new home by letting us know. The new owners of your previous home are welcome to start their own membership.
Booked separately, here is roughly what these services cost in the Calgary area:
- Furnace service: around $200
- A/C tune up: around $200
- Water heater and plumbing check: around $200
- Eavestrough cleaning: around $200
- HRV cleaning: around $120

Yes. Once the gift is purchased, we reach out to the homeowner to schedule their first appointment.
Visits
It depends on your membership. Visits cover systems like your furnace, humidifier, sump pump, exhaust fans, exterior doors and radon screening, and higher tiers add A/C, water heater, attic, gas fireplace, garage door, and roof and gutter checks. See our Seasonal Services page for more.
Silver members receive a fall visit. Gold members receive visits in the fall and spring. Platinum members receive a visit every season.
Yes, radon screening is included with Silver, Gold and Platinum memberships.
Most seasonal visits take about two hours.
No, as long as we have a way to access your home, such as a lockbox, door code or someone else at home. We will confirm access details with you before your visit.
Visits are scheduled for you automatically. If the time does not work, you can change your appointment. Please let us know as early as possible.
Yes, for certain systems. Your membership includes emergency service for issues such as HVAC and electrical problems. If you ever smell gas or see signs of fire, leave your home and call 911 first.
Yes, gutter cleaning is included with memberships that cover roof and gutter service. See our Pricing page for which levels include it. Snow removal and window washing are not included.
About 2 hours, depending on the size of your home and your membership.
Services
Yes. Silver, Gold and Platinum memberships include a yearly fall furnace service, and we change your filter at every visit. See our Pricing page for full details.
Once a year, ideally in the fall before heating season starts. Furnace filters should be changed every few months. Most homeowners forget, so we change yours at every visit.
Booked on its own, a furnace tune up in the Calgary area typically costs around $200. For Squad Life members it is included in Silver, Gold and Platinum memberships, along with everything else we check at each visit.
Once a year, in the spring before the hot weather arrives. A unit that sat all winter can collect debris and lose efficiency, and spring is when small problems are cheapest to fix.
Booked on its own, an A/C tune up in the Calgary area typically costs around $200. For Squad Life members it is included in Gold and Platinum memberships.
Yes, with Gold and Platinum memberships. Silver includes one fall visit, so A/C service is not part of Silver. See our Pricing page for full details.
Once a year for most homes. Sediment settles at the bottom of the tank over time, which makes the heater work harder and can shorten its life.
Yes, with Gold and Platinum memberships. See our Pricing page for full details.
Booked on its own, a water heater flush and plumbing check in the Calgary area typically costs around $200. For Squad Life members it is included in Gold and Platinum memberships.
Yes. We flush the system and check the venting, settings and recirculation line every spring.
At least once a year, and more often if you have mature trees near the house.
Booked on its own, eavestrough cleaning in the Calgary area typically costs around $200. For Squad Life members it is included in Platinum.
Eavestrough cleaning is included with Platinum. Eavestrough inspections and downspout checks are included with Gold and Platinum. See our Pricing page for full details.
Every few years for most homes, and sooner after renovations or if you have pets.
Booked on its own, duct and dryer vent cleaning in the Calgary area typically costs around $400. For Squad Life Platinum members, it is included every two years.
Yes, with Platinum. Ducts and your dryer vent are cleaned every two years, starting after your first year of membership. See our Pricing page for full details.
Lint builds up along the vent over time. It makes your dryer work harder and run longer, and it is a common cause of house fires.
Seasonal Maintenance Tips
Every one to three months for a standard 1 inch filter, and every six to twelve months for a thicker 4 or 5 inch media filter. Squad Life members get their filter changed at every visit.
In the fall, before the first hard freeze. Disconnect your hoses, close the shutoff valve inside the house, then open the outdoor tap to drain the line.
In the fall or winter, when windows and doors stay closed. Health Canada recommends a long term test of at least three months.
Once a month. Press the test button on each one, change batteries at least once a year and replace the detectors every 10 years.
Home Warranties and New Homes
Every new home built in Alberta must have warranty coverage under the New Home Buyer Protection Act. It covers 1 year for labour and materials, 2 years for delivery and distribution systems like plumbing, heating and electrical, 5 years for the building envelope and 10 years for the structure.
No. Warranties cover defects and breakdowns, not routine upkeep. Damage caused by skipped maintenance is usually excluded, so keeping up with maintenance protects both your home and your coverage.
Yes, and they work well together. The warranty covers defects and breakdowns, and the membership helps prevent them while keeping a record of the care your home has received.
New homes still need regular care. Filters, humidifier pads, sump pumps, caulking and settling all need attention in the first few years, and staying on top of them helps protect your new home warranty.
Yes. A home inspection is a snapshot taken before you buy. Our Home Health Check sets up your home for ongoing care: we document your equipment and its condition, log any known issues and scan your floor plan so your member portal starts with real data.
Learn where your main water shutoff, electrical panel and gas meter are, find out the size of your furnace filter, test your smoke and CO detectors, and follow a seasonal maintenance routine. Our Seasonal Home Maintenance Checklist is a good place to start.
Repairs, Parts and Trade Partners
Sealing and caulking, filter changes, door adjustments and other minor repairs we can complete during a visit.
Common maintenance supplies, such as furnace filters, silicone and caulking, are included in your membership. Some items, such as replacement smoke or CO detectors, are not. In those cases we will let you know ahead of time which product to purchase, and we will install it during your visit at no extra labour cost where we are permitted to do so. Any other parts are discussed with you before they are billed.
We log it in your portal with photos and connect you with a vetted trade partner from our network. Members receive a discount with our partners, and Silver members and above receive an enhanced discount and issue-matched referrals.
Yes. We stand behind our work. If something we serviced or repaired during a visit is not right, let us know within 30 days and we will come back and make it right at no charge. This covers our own workmanship only. It does not cover the age, wear or failure of existing equipment, or work completed by trade partners, who provide their own warranties.
Every trade partner we work with must be WCB approved and in good standing. We only refer partners we trust in our own members’ homes.
The Member Portal
Your Home Health Score, every tracked system and its expected lifespan, an issues log, a long-term home cost forecast, and your maintenance reminders, all in one place.
A simple score that summarizes the condition of your home’s systems based on our inspections, so you can see at a glance how your home is doing and track it over time.
It estimates when your major systems are likely to need replacement and what that may cost, so you can plan and budget ahead instead of being surprised.
Yes. All members receive seasonal maintenance reminders, filter change reminders, smoke and CO detector alerts, and product recall alerts.
